Door donations are greatly appreciated at Crash Course ossions, almost all of which are free. 100% of collected donations will go to stocking the food shelf at the Coyle Center. No one should ever have to miss a meal, and our friends at the Brian Coyle Center work tirelessly to ensure all individuals and families have access to culturally relevant and nutritious food.

West Bank Art – Walking Tour
The West Bank is known for great eats, great bars, and great institutions – but did you know it’s home to a wide variety of art as well? With galleries, theaters, and cultural institutions as well as murals, pop-ups, and sculptures, art on the West Bank has an interesting and storied history. Join us as we talk about the artists that helped create the art on the West Bank, the history of the murals, and more. We’ll meet on the Plaza of Cedar Cultural Center and tour the neighborhood from there. The tour will be about 1 1/2 hours and about 2 miles of walking.

The 94: Reconnecting Communities
The I-94 corridor is a major part of the regional transportation system, but has created a physical and emotional barrier between neighborhoods, including Seward and the West Bank. A group of stakeholders from The West Bank and Seward communities are working towards repairing these structural divisions. Join the Reconnecting Neighborhoods Team as we present conceptual designs of 25th/26th avenues to the community and gather feedback. Following the presentation and weather permitting, we will take a walk to the overpass and site itself.

Connecting Campus and Community on the West Bank – Walking Tour
The West Bank boasts the largest community of immigrants in the Twin Cities, continuing a long history of ethnic and cultural diversity. The history is a living one, always changing to meet the needs and dreams of its residents.
Join staff from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs for an informative walking tour of the Cedar Riverside neighborhood. Meet with community leaders and learn more about this densely populated, civically active community that is packed with venues offering live theater performance, music, and dance. University staff will share examples of student engagement that aims to create new and effective partnerships between the Cedar Riverside neighborhood and university. The walk will take about an hour and a half and be about two miles of walking. Tour will begin outside Mapps and will end at The Southern Theater.

West Bank Insider Walking Tour
The West Bank neighborhood packs many stories and experiences into a small space. On this tour, join neighborhood guides to learn about the history and people that have shaped the character of the West Bank/Cedar-Riverside area, including stops at the Cedar-Riverside Towers and KFAI radio station. At the tour’s end, the group will gather to share highlights and discuss the many experiences that make the West Bank unique.
Presented in partnership with the West Bank Business Association as part of its West Bank Crash Course program. This program is made possible by the Legacy Amendment’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4, 2008.
The tour involves up to 2 miles of walking at a moderate pace on uneven terrain. Led by the Minnesota Historical Society and local tour guides, this walking tour is $25/$20 MNHS members.
